Product Hunt Radio is back

Listen and subscribe right here.

I’ve been an avid listener of podcasts since I got my first iPod. They kept me entertained and enlightened while mowing my parent’s yard, driving to school, and traveling to soccer tournaments.

Remember this beaut?

In 2014, shortly after Product Hunt started, we were inspired to start our own podcast. We named it Product Hunt Radio, which felt delightfully nostalgic.

Over the following two years, Erik Torenberg and I recorded more than 100 episodes with a wide range of guests including notable entrepreneurs (e.g. Tim Ferris, Alexis Ohanian, Brit Morin), reporters (e.g. Sarah Buhr, Ann Friedman), investors (e.g. Sarah Tavel, Troy Carter, Chris Sacca), and occasionally entertainers (e.g. Mike Shinoda, G-Eazy, Amanda Palmer).

We had fun recording these shows and the community seemed to enjoy it… before we retired it in 2016. At the time, the podcast was not a priority for us as we narrowed our focus on expanding the community.

Podcasts, the fastest growing medium

Since Product Hunt Radio’s silent parting, the (still tiny) podcast industry has continued to blossom as audio/voice-based devices like the Amazon Echo and Google Home infiltrated homes across the country, creating even more opportunities for listeners to get hooked on the medium as I did.

Today, we’re re-introducing Product Hunt Radio with a new cast and format.

We’re much better equipped to produce and distribute a podcast that we hope people will enjoy. Our audience is much bigger, our team is operationally stronger than ever, and we’ve established great relationships with several partners to help support the show.

So, we’re bringing it back

Product Hunt Radio is reborn as a weekly show, hosted by myself alongside the people building, shaping, and funding the future of tech and culture. You’ll hear from people you recognize (and potentially follow on Twitter) and makers you should know (and follow on Twitter) that are doing amazing work behind-the-scenes. Some of the guests you’ll hear from in the coming weeks:

Each week we’ll host a different prompt. Call (707) 785–6152 to chime in and we might include it on the show. It’ll be fun. 😊

The first episode will drop soon so be sure to subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Breaker, Overcast, and wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts.

Big thanks to our partners, Airtable, GE Ventures, Intercom and Stripe for their support. You’ll hear more about them on the show. 🙌🏼
